Vlad's Tea Set

Vlad and Arlinda Beznosov live in Port Coquitlam. (Vlad and I share a mutual cubicle wall at IBM.) Recently, Vlad made an extravagant purchase: he bought a porcelain tea set from his country of birth, Russia. When he showed me pictures of his recent purchase I stated the obvious, "Vlad, now you'll have to invite me to your home for a tea party!" So ... this past Sunday (December 17th) Sue, Mom, and I bundled up in our finest tea party outfits and travelled to Vlad and Arlinda's beautiful home beside the Coquitlam River. They have done extensive renovations to their house including hardwood floors, crisp white crown molding, regal sconce lighting, and warm earthy colours everywhere. The dining room was a sight to behold. On top of a circular table was a blue and white woven table cloth with Vlad's new cups and saucers and plates. We sat around the table drinking cup after cup of piping hot tea (Russian blend) and eating poppy seed cake and Christmas cookies. We had fun.
