What's in a Name?

My middle name is "Jean." I like it because, aside from the fact that it has always been a natural extension of "Margaret," there is a special reason it was chosen.

Jean is the name of my mom's childhood friend, Jean Putnam. It is also the name of a long-time neighbour friend from Burnaby. It's nice being able to associate one's name with people who were significant in a parent's life.

I am including a picture of Jean Gorman (Jean's maiden name) and Doris Henry (mom's maiden name). It was taken in 1943. (Jean is on the left.)
