Instead of an early morning run today, I opted for a later-in-the day run. I have a newsletter to write and laundry to wash. It was still dark outside at 7:15 a.m. when I started my Saturday chores. But as the clock approached 8, sunlight overruled the darkness and changed ordinary clouds into works of art. The colours took my breath away. I stopped what I was doing, grabbed my camera and tripod, and headed for the balcony.
But That's Another Storey
The 30-storey tower has finally reached its maximum height. One day soon the crane that stands beside it will be dismantled and moved to another building site in the Lower Mainland. It won't be long now before the building is fully occupied and a new community is born. (If you click on the photo, you can see a construction worker standing on the 28th floor on the right-hand side -- he's wearing a white hard hat.)
Snow Falling on New Westminster
The clouds I referred to earlier in this post are snow clouds. There's a snowfall warning in effect for the south coast for today through until Wednesday. Check out the National Research Council website -- it tracks Canadian sunrises and sunsets.
