The scales still show 140. My new exercise regime is designed to burn fat and create muscle, because muscle -- though not skinny -- is better than fat. Here's a puzzle, "What falls faster, a ton of muscle or a ton of fat?"
Treading Lightly
The aim of my morning run is to burn 400 calories. Today I shaved three minutes off my run-time by upping the speed control on the treadmill. It took just over 28 minutes. (Note: It's faster to eat calories than it is to burn them -- a Walnut Crunch donut at Tim Horton's has 360 calories and requires less than a minute to eat.) I must learn to program the treadmill's computer with my weight and age. Funny, I don't have a problem telling a machine that stuff (or publishing a blog), but I lose sleep over the retirement question. Go figure (pardon the pun).
Here's a Tip
If you share a treadmill with other people, make sure you reset the incline setting before you begin your run. I didn't realize my condo's treadmill retains incline information after the machine is turned off. In other words, the default setting is the one programmed by the last person to use the machine.
