3 Men and a Peggy

My brother, Don, is a good letter writer. He sent me a note the other day that described the spin class he participates in. "Hank," a 70-year-old Ironman, is Don's inspiration. Not only is he a nice guy with a good attitude, he's also an excellent example of someone who refuses to let his age get in the way of staying fit.

My son, Jordan, likes to challenge my belief that for many people, alcohol is a psychological crutch, a destroyer of livers and a wallet-busting activity. Jordan's latest endorsement is an article he read on the BBC website. According to the latest research, drinking 28 cups of beer a month is actually good for lowering cholesterol and preventing heart attacks. I think I'll stick to running -- beer has too many calories.

My main squeeze, Al, tried to fix the treadmill at my condo. Whoever used the contraption last, left it in the highest incline possible and now it's stuck there. According to the online literature Al found for this particular treadmill, a burned-out fuse is likely the culprit. The problem is, there's no fuse. So, for now, it's the Quay for me.
